Day 5 - June 19

A long day on a bus. We left Denali Park at 8:30 this morning for the nine hour trek along the Denali Highway to the Copper River Resort. Two thirds of the road is a dirt road. Actually, it was better than big parts of the paved section. Along the way, we had three scheduled stops and multiple animal sighting stops. The same rules applied as the Tundra Tour a couple days ago. We could only do this on the dirt road piece. That was ok, there was over 100 miles of dirt road. We were able to shoot 239 pictures today. Of course not all of them will be keepers, but that is still a lot of pictures. If you blow-up the image, you should see a mom moose and her twins. We saw a few glaciers along the way as well as the huge mountain ranges. There is so much of this state that seems to be untouched. I thought Colorado was awesome (it is), but this place is just spectacular and we will only be seeing a small part of this state.

Time to hit the sack. Long day tomorrow. I believe it is a ten hour trip which will include a plane ride to and from our destination.
